The adjustment wheel in your vacuum cleaner moves up and down automatically to adjust the brush to the correct setting.

On hard floors the adjustment wheel moves upward into the vacuum so that the brush lowers and becomes flush with the floor. On carpeted floors the adjustment wheel moves downward out of the machine so that the brush rises to provide aggressive brush action, while maintaining optimal air flow.
