Tumble dryer belts often slip or snap, due to wear and tear so the only real solution is to buy a new replacement. The Poly-Vee Belt, or Ribbed Belt as it is also known, resembles a flat belt – but with V-shaped ribs along the inside surface for increased friction force between the pulley and the belt.

If your tumble dryer drum isn't spinning, or produces excessive noise or vibrations when moving, there could be a problem with the drive belt. Over time the belt can become smoothed or stretched, and this can make the performance of the drum suffer. If the drum does not spin correctly, then your clothes may come out damp after the cycle has been completed.
