A blocked post motor filter in your vacuum cleaner can reduce suction power and won't trap dust particles as well as it should.

Its purpose is to collect the dust that passes through the suction nozzle from the carpet or floor, helping prevent it from being spread around the room.

If you find that dust is escaping your cleaner, then the filter may be clogged. If this happens the vacuum cleaners motor can become overheated as dust particles are not filtered out and make their way into the motor.
